Dr. Stephen Aro-Gordon (PhD) lectures in Finance at the Faculty of Management and Social Sciences, Baze University Abuja, Nigeria where he has been teaching since 2014. He has also been an Adjunct Professor of Finance at SDM Institute for Management Development (SDMIMD) Mysore, India. Educated in Nigeria and the UK, he also holds the Fellowship of Institute of Chartered Management Accountants and he is a member of the International Association for Quantitative Finance (USA). Before joining Baze University, he worked for three successive Business Schools and contributed immensely to expanding professional development programmes in management studies, accountancy, taxation, and finance and banking in north-western Nigeria. He has vast experience of working in the corporate world, including international consulting experience, serving on various independent expert advisory teams on a number of government reforms and capacity development programmes in Nigeria assisted by the World Bank, the EC, the USAID, among others, and he has won several academic and professional awards in the course of his investment banking and valuation career spanning more than 30 years. His research focuses on the broad area of applied financial mathematics and econometrics with applications to sustainable investment management practice and policy in emerging markets. In particular, some of his current research interests include innovations in Capital Markets, Financial Institutions, Corporate Finance and Corporate Governance. A seasoned academic and administrator with passion for human development, he has visited a number of countries to participate and chair scientific conferences and he has to his credit more than 30 research papers published in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings. He also serves on the international editorial advisory boards of some scholarly journals. An Environmentalist, Life Coach and Youth Empowerment enthusiast, he enjoys working with people and organizations to provide and drive value for long-term success.

SDMIMD welcomes Dr. Stephen Aro-Gordon from Baze University, Abuja, Nigeria. Dr. Aro-Gordon teaches in the area of Finance and Strategy at the Baze University to Under-Graduates and Graduates. Dr. Aro-Gordon will spend 4 months at SDMIMD sharing his expertise in teaching and research with the faculty members here. Dr. Aro-Gordon comes with 20 years of experience in corporate and 10 years in the academics.

He has wide-ranging experience in both the corporate sector as well as in academics. After graduating from IIM-A, he worked in various leading companies for thirty-one years. Simultaneously he also taught management in business schools. His specialisation is in the area of Operations Management and General Management. Before joining SDM-IMD he was Vice President - Operations with Sanmar Engineering Corporation, Chennai. During his career in industry, he taught in KIMS, Karnataka University as a guest faculty. He has served as a member on several panels of Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Karnataka University.

Presently he is an Executive Board Member of Association of Indian Management Schools.
