Alumnus on Campus - Mr. Rajanikanth Urs M.C

'Organization strategy should be taken forward with a focus on using technology as enabler. This should be the core in all aspects of management. We should explore ways as to how Internet of Things (IoT), Social Media, to put it succinctly, the concept of 'Digital Marketing' can help us in product management, product marketing, customer feedback, and  research & innovation' thus said Rajanikanth Urs M.C., SDMite of PGDM 1998-2000; and, Regional Category Manager, Asia Pacific & Japan, HPE FlexNetwork and Aruba Switching, Aruba, a Hewlett Packard Enterprise Company. 
 
The talk that focused on 'Product Marketing and Management' was scheduled on December 20, 2016 at our Institute Auditorium.

Library to Young Minds by SDMites

 
The Library Initiative For Education at School in short 'LIFE @ School' Team of SDMIMD extended a library to Government Adarsha Vidhyalaya School at Jockey Quarters Mysore. The library was inaugurated by Deepthi and Pranav the students of the School on December 15, 2016.
 
Dr. H Gayathri, Deputy Director, Dr. R. Jagadeesh, Dean-Academics; Prof. Rajendra Todalbagi, Dr. M.V. Sunil of SDMIMD; Mr. Sathish, Head Master of the school; teachers, students from SDMIMD, were present during this inaugural event. 
 

Guest talk by Mr. Manjunath C.S

Mr. Manjunath C.S., an alumnus of SDMIMD and currently working as a Regional manager at L&T Australia addressed the first year PGDM students and shared his experiences. He adviced to students based on his 17 years of rich experience as a business leader. He spoke about how working in Australia amidst different cross cultures, helped him to have a global perspective and he also emphasised students to explore and carefully evaluate the opportunities that they come across before making a decision.

5th International HR conference at SDMIMD

SDMIMD had organized the 5th International Conference on “Managing Human Resources at the workplace” on December 9 & 10, 2016. 
 
More than 150 papers were presented on both the days. Eminent speakers were invited for the technical sessions held during the conference. Around 250 academicians, research scholars, corporate executives, consultants, and management students from India and abroad participated in the conference.
 
The valedictory function of the conference was held on December 10, 2016. Mr. C. Mahalingam was the Chief Guest for the valedictory function. He spoke about the business imperatives like globalization, technology, intellectual capital. He addressed the gathering on measuring HR architecture, Human Capital Maturity, Drivers for measurement and emphasized on the fact that HR managers are the future leaders.
 
Dr. H. Gayathri, Deputy Director-SDMIMD, gave the valedictory speech. Dr. Mousumi Sengupta, Conference Chair, proposed the vote of thanks. Dr. N. R. Parasuraman, Director – SDMIMD, Dr. Nilanjan Sengupta, Conference Co-Chair, and other faculty members of the institute were present.

Campus Visit by Chairman Dr. D.V. Heggade

Our Honorable Chairman Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikaari, Shri Kshetra Dharmasthala, visited the Institute on December 9, 2016 . During the visit, Dr. Heggade attended the Cultural activities arranged as part of HR Conference 2016. HR Conference Valedictory talk by Mr. C Mahalingam

Mr. C Mahalingam, Executive Vice President & Global Chief People Officer, Symphony Services Corporation, was invited to speak on 'Measuring HR Architecture' during Valedictory function scheduled on 2nd day of the 5th International HR Conference held during December 9 & 10, 2016 at SDMIMD. The speaker focused his presentation on the aspects of business imperatives, accelerating performance, crisis in measurement as criteria in measuring HR Architecture. The speaker presented the ideas with live cases from the industry. 

Invited talk by Mr. Naganagouda S.J

'VUCA World' was the topic for deliberation during the technical session presented by Mr. Naganagouda S.J., Associate Vice President & Head of Human Resources at Global Edge Software Ltd., on day 2 of the 5th International HR Conference held on December 9 & 10, 2016 at SDMIMD. Mr. Naganagouda said VUCA and key competencies are the future of work and it drives the skills for the future. 

Alumnus on Campus – Mr. Chandrasekhar Kalubandi

'Workforce Transformation' was the invited talk presented during the technical session at the 5th International HR Conference, scheduled on Saturday, December 10, 2016. Mr. Chandrasekhar Kalubandi, Vice President, NTT Data, Bangalore, the invited speaker and alumnus of SDMIMD, shared his views on how the focus of the workforce has shifted from 'factor driven growth' to 'innovation driven growth'. The discussion on how workforce transformation helps in employee motivation with the audience was interesting.
