The Chairman of SDMIMD Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Shri Kshethra Dharmasthala, laid stress on all round development of students and understanding of ethical dimensions during the 21st Annual Convocation of SDMIMD’s flagship program Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) on Friday, March 25, 2016 at SDMIMD Campus. He was presiding over the event whereat 170 students belonging to the 2014-16 batch were conferred the Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM).
The Chief Guest of the Convocation Shri. Arun Maira, Former Chairman, Planning Commission of India; and, Former Chairman, Boston Consultancy Group (BCG) urged the young graduating students to continue learning and being patriotic.. New technologies are changing the nature of work very rapidly. We should ensure that young people become good learners thought out their lives, and they continue to learn new skills and acquire new knowledge that will be required as their profession evolve. The other reason to learn is to be better innovator. Innovators develop new ideas and new products & services’.
The Chief Guest presented the Gold Medals to the meritorious students. Winner of the Chairman’s Distinguished Student Award Ms. Kriti Shukla received the Gold Medal in Systems & HR. The Overall Achievement Award winner Ms. Neetu prabhakaran expected Gold Medal in Marketing. Mr. Anuraag Shahapur won Gold Medal in Operations; and Ms. Dronamraju Sirisha won Finance Gold Medal.
Earlier, the Director of the Institute Dr. N.R. Parasuraman welcomed the gathering and presented the Annual Report 2015-16. The presentation gave glimpses about the happenings in the Institute during the academic year. The report also shared the significant advancements made by the institute including Renews of CRSIL A** Rating, Brickworks A** Rating, activities with International Tie-up with five Universities around the world, a very high Research & Publication achievement by Faculty which ranks among the top 10 in the country, and the host of conferences and events held at the Institute.
The Deputy Director of SDMIMD Dr. H. Gayathri presented the vote of thanks.

Neetu prabhakaran, gold medallist in Marketing and winner of the Overall achievement award said,
“PGDM has helped me grow as a person. It has helped me realise learning helps you look at situations differently and the more you understand the best can be made out of any situation or problem. I have started enjoying responsibility and I have realised the more I was challenged the best was brought out of me.
I want to try and expand my boundaries by exploring new areas of HR and also hone my leadership skills by taking up challenging tasks.
I would also like to do my bit to bring about some changes to certain social causes.”

Dronamraju Sirisha, the gold medallist in Finance said,
“After my BBA, I have understood that finance interests me the most and wanted to specialize in finance. That's how I have landed in SDMIMD. PGDM has helped me in giving the right approach to learn and imbibed the skill required to excel in the field of finance.
I want to make my career in the field of private equity, and that is where I am starting my career with SI-Holdings, an U.S.A based private equity firm.”
