Institute for Management Development
In keeping with the Dharmasthala ethos, SDMIMD has rural development, social exposure and ethics as part of the curriculum for management students. This stems from our conviction that apart from conceptual and practical training, budding managers would need to be sensitised to social reality and wider responsibility to become well rounded individuals. The Institute is joining hands with Head Held High in launching a Rubanomics initiative.

In this context, we are all pleased to bring out this special publication containing learned articles and papers on the highly relevant subject of Rural and Social economics. This also contains summarised reports on the experiences of some of our students during their summer internship project with Head Held High, our partner in this joint initiative.

I am confident that this work will be found useful by researchers, academics and social agencies alike.
