“Workplaces should be seen as social enterprises and there should not be work-life dichotomy”, thus spoke Mr. Madan Padaki, Co-Founder and CEO, MeritTrac Services, Bangalore, while delivering the keynote address during the Inaugural Function of the 2-Day International Conference on ‘Managing Human Resources at the Workplace” at SDM Institute for Management Development, Mysore. He also stressed on a point that the Indian rural mass can be offered more and more jobs in the BPO business. With the ever growing web based technology and companies like Coursera” offering online open education systems, there is tremendous opportunity for educating the youth. Coursera, over last nine months, has attracted over 2 million entrants. Health and Medicine is another area which is more sought after by Gen Y and Gen Z.
Adding values to the talk, Mr. Padaki said that HR should be viewed as “human infinite potential” not just as “resources” because with the increase in longevity among human population, even 60+ people are found extremely energetic. These elderly resources are highly potential for a paradigm shift from shallow generalist to serial masters. By the year 2025, the world will not be recognized as developed in technology instead technology will be embedded in the human life itself.

Earlier, the Conference was welcomed by Dr N.R. Parasuraman, Director of the Institute. Conference Chair Dr. Mousumi Sengupta kindled the theme of the Conference and introduced the Keynote Speaker.  Conference Co-Chair Dr.  Nilanjan Sengupta rendered Vote of Thanks. The two day conference is going to witness deliberation with over 250 paper presenters from academic and corporate area from India and abroad. The student community of SDMIMD fully geared up to organize the Track sessions with a view to gain hands-on experience in managing organizing conferences.
