Inauguration of Program for Overseas Students

SDMIMD launched a ‘Program on Developing Business Excellence (DBE) – With a Sense of Social Responsibility’ for overseas students to understand India’s business environment, consumer behaviour, cultural background, and corporate environment. The program aims to sensitize student from overseas who visit India for educational purpose about the ethics and social relevance of the Indian business environment.

The program was inaugurated for the first batch of 21 foreign national students at St. Philomena’s College (Autonomous), Mysore, Post graduate Centre on August 9, 2021.

Panel Discussion on Post-COVID Trends in the Industry

SDMIMD and Prerana - the SDMIMD Alumni Association organized a panel discussion on 'Post-COVID Trends in the Industry' on August 10, 2021. The program organized as part of the Orientation Program 2021 brought all the Alumnus Speakers who had earlier addressed the PGDM Batch 2021-2023 as panel members.

The members included Mr Sriram N., VP Global Sales Automation Anywhere; Mr Vipin S Prasad, CEO Joining Dots; Mr Deepansh Agarwal, Director at Aim High Consulting; Ms Aruna Sampige, CEO, Roots Reforms Initiative; Mr Tejasvinathan, Assistant Vice President, Organisation and People Development, Swiss Re; Ms Hamsini Ramamurthy, Zonal Head HR – UltraTech Cement Limited, Aditya Birla Group; and, Mr Vijay Mane, Director, Business Development and Marketing at Deshpande Startups. The discussion was moderated by the President of Perana, Mr Niranjan Naik.

The interaction during the question and answer sessions was a source of great learning for the new PGDM Batch.

Invited Talk by Alumnus Mr Sriram N

The PGDM 2021-2023 Batch had an opportunity to interact with Mr Sriram N., SDMIMD Alumnus and Vice President, Global Sales, Automation Anywhere. Mr Sriram discussed the topic Sales and Marketing in Software Services & Products with young managers on August 10, 2021.

Invited Talk by Alumnus Mr Sandesh Murchy

Mr Sandesh Murchy, SDMIMD Alumnus and Director – HR, Oracle, was invited to address the PGDM Batch 2021-2023 on the Evolution of HR and Current Trends for HR Professionals. The invited talk was organized as a part of the Orientation Program for PGDM 2021-23.

Workshop on Design Thinking

Dr M.V. Sunil, Head - Academic Administration, conducted a Workshop on Design Thinking for the PGDM Batch 2021-2023 from August 9 to 12, 2021. The workshop was organized as a part of the Orientation Program for PGDM 2021-23.

Invited Talk by Alumnus Mr Subramanya Rao

Mr Subramanya Rao, SDMIMD Alumnus; and Founder & CEO of Discover Dollar, was invited to talk on Entrepreneur Journey to the young managers on campus on August 9, 2021. The talk was organized as a part of the Orientation Program for PGDM 2021-23.

Workshop on Indian Society in Transition

Dr R. Indira Ramarao, Member of the Governing Board of SDMIMD and Formerly Professor of Sociology & Former Director, International Center, University of Mysore, conducted a section-wise focused Workshop on Indian Society in Transition to the PGDM 2021-2023 Batch. The Workshop was organized as a part of the Orientation Program for PGDM 2021-23 on August 9 & 10, 2021.

Mr Machaganda Santhosh M, SDMIMD Alumnus & Executive VP – HDFC Bank, was invited to address the PGDM 2021-2023 on Opportunities in Banking / Finance Industry on August 7, 2021. The talk was organized talk as part of the Orientation Program 2021.
