Academic & Research Tie-up with BAI, France

SDMIMD has entered into an MOU with Business Analytics Institute (BAI), a France based institute involved in training pertaining to Managerial Decision Making, Machine Learning and Visual Communications. As part of this academic collaboration, besides student and faculty exchange, joint research related to Business Analytics is envisaged.

SDMIMD, as part of its flagship PGDM program is currently offering elective courses related to Analytics like Business Intelligence, Big Data Technologies, R Programming, etc. With this academic & research tie-up SDMIMD students will have an opportunity to learn the nuances of analytics based managerial decision making with the new course - “Business Analytics in Action”. Dr. Lee Schlenker, who is the Principal and Managing Partner of Business Analytics Institute, would be the guest-faculty for this course.

'Accreditation Process' - Invited Talk by Dr. Parasuraman

SDMIMD Director Dr N.R. Parasuraman addressed the delegates of the 10th International Accreditation Conference organized by the Standards for Educational dvancement & Accreditation (SEAA) Trust, New Delhi on November 6, 2017. Dr. Parasuraman explained the process of EFMD - EPAS accreditation and how SDMIMD geared itself to succeed in the process.

Invited talk by Mr BC Rao

The 2 day international Conference on Marketing held on 26th and 27th of October with a theme, which focused on the contemporary and emerging trends of marketing in Digital World started off with a key note address by Mr BC Rao, MD of Kennametal India Ltd. Mr BC Rao, in his key note address highlighted about the digital initiatives that his organization has taken and how positive its impact has been. Mr Rao also shared his personal experiences during the course of his lecture. He gave tips to students to survive and succeed in the corporate set up.

Guest talk by Mr. Sukumar Rangachari

Mr Sukumar Rangachari, Managing Director, Ace Components and Electronics Pvt ltd, delivered invited talk organized by the E-Cell Club - Swayam at SDMIMD. During the course of his lecture, Mr Sukumar Rangachari spoke about the importance of entrepreneurship. He questioned the audience “Why they wanted to become entrepreneurs?”, and through the course of his lecture, he tried to give the audience a sense of direction and clarity on how to become an entrepreneur. Mr Sukumar Rangachari also emphasised about the importance of a business plan/Model. This was followed by a Q&A session.

9th among ‘Top B-Schools of Super Excellence’	22nd among Top 100 B-School of ‘Future Orientation’

Competition Success Review (CSR) Magazine has ranked SDMIMD in 9th place among the ‘Top B-School of Super Excellence’ at all India level. The institute has secured 5th Top B-School.	The Business Today B-School Survey 2017 has placed SDMIMD in 22nd Place among the Top 100 Institutes in the country with ‘Future Orientation’. The institute has been listed for Placements and Selection Process among the Top 100 B-Schools in the Country.

The B-School survey results released recently by key magazines which publishes B-School survey every year - Business Today, Career 360, Competition Success Review (CSR), The Week, Dalal Street Investment Journal (DSIJ), Education World, Higher Education Review, and, Hindu – Business Line & MBA Universe. Business Today has identified SDMIMD among the Top B-School of ‘Future Orientation’; CSR has ranked SDMIMD in 9th in top B-Schools of Super Excellence, while The Week has listed SDMIMD among the top private B-School in South Zone. The performance in academic excellence, placement, faculty strength, international orientation, research and publication and exposure to beyond class room learning has made SDMIMD to secure its position among the Top 50 B-Schools in the country.

List in Top 50 B-School by Business World

SDMIMD is ranked in 30th Place in Business World B-School Ranking under Top Private Business Schools in India. In overall ranking of India’s B-School SDMIMD is listed among the Top 50 B-Schools in the recently issue. The best performance in leadership, admission process, industry linkage, infrastructure, placement, and ROI to students has made SDMIMD have the 6th Place in the South Indian B-Schools in the overall ranking.

Prof. Prasad and Prof. Jayakrishnan at BUiD on Faculty Exchange

As a part of the faculty exchange arrangement that SDMIMD has with the British University in Dubai, two of the faculty from SDMIMD – Prof. S Jayakrishnan and Prof. S N Prasad, held sessions in Dubai.

Prof. S. Jayakrishnan, was invited by British University in Dubai (BUiD) to deliver the sessions on Consumer Learning, Persuasion and Marketing strategy, Planning and Business Models to BUiD MBA Students. Prof. Jayakrishnan's visit during October 16-18, 2017, is the part of Student-Faculty exchange program between SDMIMD and BUiD.

'India's group behaviour and team working' was the session delivered by Prof. S.N. Prasad, Professor - Strategy and General Management, at British University in Dubai (BUiD) to the MBA students.

Both the sessions were highly appreciated.

Abhigyaan 2017 - Under Graduate Management Fest

SDMIMD conducted Abhigyaan ’17 the annual fest for undergraduate students. 200+ young graduates from colleges across Karnataka participated in various management events like Best Manager, Marketing, Finance, HR, Entrepreneurship and events like Quiz, Treasure hunt, Street Play etc. The Day 1 culminated with cultural competitions like Singing, Dancing and Fashion show.

This years’ Abhigyaan saw a new addition i.e Sports, where sporting events like Cricket, Football and Badminton where held. At the end of Day 2 the prize distribution ceremony was held and our Director, Dr. N.R. Parasuraman along with the other faculty members distributed the prizes to the winning teams.
