“India is a sea of opportunities and there is no reason to state that India does not have a future. In view of conserving our democratic system, hero worship should not be encouraged”, thus opined Shri. TS Krishna Murthy, Former Chief Election Commissioner of India, during the talk delivered at SDMIMD on August 22, 2017. The talk was organized to commemorate the Foundation Day of the Institute. 

Shri Krishna Murthy introduced the managerial qualities – Inter personal communication; ability to take decisions; moulding oneself to the demands of the work place environment; respect for time; and leadership qualities to the young managers. The talk brought in several anecdotes and life experiences of the speaker.

He also stressed upon the need for leadership qualities in Young Indians - respecting values, institute building capability, honesty, good governance, decision making, to make India more vibrant. Appreciating these qualities in Western education and culture, he said its application in India makes the difference.

The talk was followed by a lively question-answer session. Earlier, Director of the Institute Dr. N.R. Parasuraman, welcomed the gathering and Dr. H. Gayathri, Deputy Director introduced the speaker and Dr. M.R. Suresh presented the vote of thanks.
