The 3rd International Conference on Managing Human Resources at the Workplace was held on December 5 & 6, 2014 at the Institute Campus. Mr. Swaminathan Santhanam, CEO, Adrenalin eSystems Limited, was the Chief Guest for the Inaugural function and delivered the Keynote address. In his Keynote address, Mr. Swaminathan emphasized the significance of networking in organizations and opined that Social networking and collaborative networking would be the key to success for the future-oriented companies.

The conference was attended by more than 225 academic scholars and HR practitioners from India and other countries, such as, Bangladesh, Cameroun, Indonesia, Iran, Nepal, Nigeria, UAE. The conference proceeding having the papers presented during this academic event was released by Prof. S. Prabhakar, Secretary, SDM Educational Trust.

Mr. Parveen Kamath, GM & Global Head of Talent Acquisition, Wipro BPO, Dr. Vishwanath Palled, Chief – CSR, at JSW Foundation, Mr. Babu Vittal, Director – HRBP at Flipkart.com, are among the other distinguished speakers who delivered the invited talk during the conference.

During the inaugural function Dr. N. R. Parasuraman, the Director, SDMIMD welcomed the gathering and stressed on the significance of HRM in these so called “VUCA” times. Dr. Mousumi Sengupta, Conference – Chair presented the conceptual note of the conference theme and explained how the role of HRM is undergoing metamorphosis from being a functional contributor towards the corporate performance, to becoming a strategic partner of business decisions. Dr. Nilanjan Sengupta, Conference Co-Chair proposed the vote of thanks.
