National Seminar on E-Resource Management

"Education is the most powerful weapon to change the world. Government Of India in its 11th Plan has declared "Higher Education Plan" and has increased budget by ten fold to ensure Expansion, Equity and Excellence. The measures have been further extended during 12th plan" said Prof V.G. Talawar former Vice Chancellor Mysore University and present Vice Chancellor Reva University Bangalore, while delivering inaugural address at the Two Day National Seminar on "Emerging Trends in E Resource management and Services in College Libraries".
 
He also recalled President Sri Pranab Mukherjee's address to the Parliament wherein the President had said -" Education is the true Alchemy that can bring India its next golden age. Our motto is unambiguous - All for knowledge and knowledge for all". He stressed on Indian Government's efforts for formation of Consortia INFLIBNET Through INFONET which has been now providing 7500+ core peer reviewed journals, 10 bibliographic databases and many e books. Further he said that Ministry of Human Resources Development has initiated a service called "National Library & information Services, to cater Infrastructure of Scholarly Content targeting to reach Colleges with 4137 full text e journals, 94000+ e books. Unfortunately out of 37000+ Colleges that exist in India today, only 910 unaided Colleges in India have registered as members and are availing the benefits.
