Mr.R.C Jagadesh, Director - GCC, Klueber Lubrication India Pvt. Ltd

Mr. R.C Jagadesh, Director - Global Competence Centre -Cement Industry, Klueber lubrication India Private Limited was invited to an as distinguished speaker to the 4th International Conference on “Economic Growth and Sustainable Development: Emerging Trends” on November 24, 2018.   In his talk, Mr.Jagadesh emphasised that cultural sustainability is the key to organisational sustainability, and environmental sustainability is the key to sustainable development.  

Talk on General Insurance by Mr. Easwara Narayanan

Mr. Easwara Narayanan, former Chief Operating Officer at Future Generali India Insurance Company Ltd was one of the invited speakers of the 4th International Conference on “Economic Growth and Sustainable Development: Emerging Trends” on November 23, 2018. He delivered lecture on “General Insurance Industry-Megatrends Shaping the Future”.  He elucidated the main challenges the insurance industry is facing today and possible ways to tackle them.

Talk by Ms.Lekshmi Bhargavi, VP-HR, Fusion Microfinance

Ms.Lekshmi Bhargavi spoke about the challenges of talent acquisition in Microfinance sector. She was delivering the talk to the delegates of the 4th International Conference on “Economic Growth and Sustainable Development: Emerging Trends” on November 23, 2018. She identifies productivity, moral compass, and demography as major issues surrounded acquisition and retention of talent in microfinance sector. 

Mr. Maheshwer Peri’s Talk on Demographic Dividend

Mr. Maheshwer Peri delivered an invited talk to the delegates of the 4th International Conference on “Economic Growth and Sustainable Development: Emerging Trends” on November 23, 2018. He dealt with the education system in India coupled with demographic dividends and threw light on the alarming growth rate of the cost of higher education in India against the much lower growth rate of jobs over time. Furthermore, he spoke about the tacit change in the rate of increase in the number of universities in the recent decade, both public and private. He further spoke on how the private institutes were controlling the education system in India.

Keynote Address to the Economics Conference by Dr.R. Balasubramaniam

Dr.R. Balasubramaniam, Founder & Chairman, GRAAM, Mysore inaugurated the two-day International Conference on “Economic Growth and Sustainable Development: Emerging Trends” on November 23, 2018 and delivered keynote address to the conference delegates.  He drew up the threats and challenges to sustainable development and opined that, ecological crisis, societal crisis and crisis of self are the barriers to inclusive sustainability. Wealth pursues wealthy due to the current development strategies, said Dr.Balasubramaniam.   

Guest talk by Mr. Sanjai K

Mr. Sanjai K, Vice President, Product Management S/4HANA, SAP, was at SDMIMD on November 22, 2018. He interacted with the students of the ERP course and shared his insights on emerging trends in the ERP space. He spoke on ERP on the cloud, Predictive Analytics, IoT and Intelligent ERP.

Microfinance Leads to Social Inclusion – Dr.R.Indira

Dr. R. Indira, President, Indian Sociological Society, speaking on the panel topic “Nexus between Micro Credit and Sustainability: Unravelling the Research Perspectives” in the pre-conference workshop on ‘Micro Finance for Macro Development’ on November 22, 2018 opined that microfinance has contributed to the social sustainability. Dr.Indira attributes women empowerment with education, freedom of action, economic independence, improved standard of living, rising social status and better organisational skills to microfinancing and SHGs.

Mr. William D’ Souza, Vice-Chairman, Sanghamithra Rural Financial Services

Mr. William D’ Souza, Vice-Chairman, Sanghamithra Rural Financial Services narrated the success and the hardships of MYRADA, a leading and the oldest NGO based at Mysore in delivering microfinance. He was addressing the participants of the pre-conference workshop on ‘Micro Finance for Macro Development’ on November 22, 2018. Based on his practical experience on the field, Mr.D’Souza believes that formation of Self Help Groups (SHGs), and delivery of microfinance to SHGs under joint liability group model has a far-reaching impact on financial inclusion of the economically excluded population in the society.
