Duration

The 12-months (spread over FOUR terms) Post Graduate Programme in Management (Full Time) is on par with the regular PGPM programme in its coverage and rigour. Each term of 9-11 weeks duration which includes 1 week for examinations (mid-term & end-term) and Projects.


Pedagogy

The pedagogy is a functional mix of lectures, group discussions, presentations, case analysis, simulation games, field visits and project work. The fundamental importance is on interactive and participative methods of learning. The use of technology is emphasized and is integrated in the basic principles of learning. This is also integrated in different functional areas of management. The Program participants get to interact with distinguished academics, policy makers and industry leaders who provide their insights into the present-day business and industry issues.


Courses

The programme comprises of 1 / 2 / 3 credit courses (1 credit = 8 hours of contact sessions). The courses are offered in the following functional areas: Finance, Operations Management, Marketing, Information Management, HRM/ OB and Strategy. Courses are CORE and ELECTIVES.


Specialization

The Programme offers dual specialization in any of the two functional areas mentioned under the section – Courses. To specialize a minimum of 12 credits Courses have to be opted for in each functional area. A minimum 10 student registrations is required for the Specialization course to be conducted. List of Electives courses will be shortly provided on the website.


Dissertation and Project Work

In addition to courses, each student is required to complete dissertation and project work, equivalent to two credit loads. In this dissertation he/she will address a clearly defined live problem of an organization/ business. A faculty member from SDMIMD will guide the project work. Students also may have to choose a guide from the industry for their project work. The dissertation work is evaluated and the grade obtained is counted for the final CGPA. The structure of the same will be informed before the start of the Project Work.


Class Schedule

Classes will be sessions of 90 minutes each on 5 days between 8.30 am – 4.30 pm with a lunch break from 1.30 PM to 3.00 PM.


Award of Certificate

On successful completion of the requirements of the programme, a student is awarded Post-Graduate Program in Management (Full Time), which is issued under the aegis of SDMIMD.
