  • Was invited to deliver the 3rd Malathi Bolar Memorial Lecture at Siddaganga Institute of Technology (SIT), Post Graduate Department of Management Studies & Research Centre, Tumkur, on November 12, 2017. It may be recalled that Prof. Malathi Bolar was a Director of SDMIMD in the late 1990s.
  • Addressed the delegates of the 10th International Accreditation Conference organized by the Standards for Educational dvancement & Accreditation (SEAA) Trust, New Delhi on November 6, 2017. Dr. Parasuraman explained the process of EFMD - EPAS accreditation and how SDMIMD geared itself to succeed in the process. ​​
  • Invited as a Chief Guest for the One-Day Workshop Program on New Regimes of Indian Business Environment organized by University of Mysore, Department of Studies in Commerce & the Institute of Company Secretaries of India Mysore Chapter, Mysuru on September 15, 2017.
  • Was the Chief Guest for the ​20th Representative Council Meeting of The GIC Employees' Union-Karnataka held on September 2, 2017 in Mysore. Dr. Parasuraman delivered the Keynote Address during the event. 
  • Invited by Indian Institute of Management, Kohzikode (IIMK) for a course on Financial Derivatives. This course will be completed over 3 visits.
  • Invited as a Distinguished Speaker for the 8th Indian Management Conclave 2017 organized by MBA Universe and Indian Institute of Management Lucknow (IIML) during August 4-5, 2017.
  • Delivered a speech on Pedagogical Improvements at the Indian Management Conclave (IMC 2017), hosted by MBA Universe, a student portal and the Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow (IIML), NOIDA Campus on 05 Aug 2017.  Prof Prasad SN was invited as a delegate.  The event, held on 04-05 Aug 2017, was attended by the directors of more than 10 IIMs in India, the Chairmen of the AICTE, NBA.  International representatives of the EFMD, AACSB along with several other private organizations involved in the management programme accreditation processes also attended the program.  Dr Raman Roy, Chairman of NASSCOM and Dr Janat Shah, Director IIM, Udaypur, the current Chair for the AICTE committee on ranking of B Schools,  were key speakers during the course of the program

  • Invited to the ‘Capacity Building Workshop for Teachers-Towards Enhancing Quality of Teaching, Learning and Evaluation in Colleges’ as a Resource Person to give a talk on the topic ‘Recent trends in teaching and learning’ on December 19, 2017, organized by St. Philomena’s College (Autonomous), Mysore. More than 100 faculty members participated in the workshop.
  • Invited to judge the Quality Control Circles annual competition on 18 December 2017, organized by M/s Rane (Madras) Limited, Mysore, in their production plant, wherein five teams participated.
  • Reviewed the paper titled "The Adoption of Lean Principles and Practices: Transforming Human Resources Delivery System Model" submitted to the International Journal of Business Excellence (IJBEX), published by Inderscience Publishers.
  • Invited by Rane (Madras), Mysore division, to judge Quality Improvement Teams’ (QIT) annual projects that are shortlisted for final round presentation for the President’s Award QIT competition. Eight teams participated and the top three teams were recommended.
  • Reviewed the paper titled "Workplace Spirituality: Insights From The Bhagavad Gita" submitted to the International Journal of Business Excellence (IJBEX), Inderscience Publication, SCOPUS indexed.
  • Reviewed the paper titled "Case-Method Teaching: Advantages and Disadvantages in Organizational Training" submitted to the Journal of Management Development, Emerald Publication, SCOPUS indexed.
  • Acted as the resource person for a module on Literature Review as a part of Two Days Workshop on Research Methodology organized for the research scholars of JSS University, numbering around 110, and held at SJCE premises on 18 & 19 November 2017.
  • Acted as the resource person for four sessions during the One Day Workshop on Research and Publications, organized for the research scholars of different universities, numbering around 30, and held at SDM IMD premises on 19 November 2017. 
  • Reviewed the manuscript ID TQM-10-2017-0115 entitled "TQM implementation in 3PL organizations vs. organizations with in-house logistics department. A literature review" submitted to The TQM Journal, which is an Emerald publication and Scopus indexed. 
  • Reviewed the manuscript entitled "Analyzing the feedback structure of production defect management" submitted to The TQM Journal - which is from Emerald publishing and Scopus indexed. 
  • Invited to deliver a talk on “Teaching and Learning in Higher Education” at St. Philomena’s College, Mysuru on June 1, 2017.
  • Acted as member of Assessment Council for the assessment of candidates working in the Technology Development and Transfer Board, CFTRI, Mysore, on 27 April 2017.
  • Acted as Examiner for the final viva - voce of Ph.D. under VTU by a faculty member of NMAIT, Nitte, DK District, on 21 April 2017. The Ph.D. thesis pertains to research conducted on quality initiatives and quality awards.
  • Conducted two sessions at Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management, Mangalore, on 20 April 2017,  for the MBA students on the topic “MBA and Beyond” and for the faculty members on the topic “Research and Innovation”.

  • Participated in the One-Day Round Table on Monday 28th August, 2017 on ‘National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF): An interactive session.’ At Welingkar’s Institute of Management at Bangalore.
  • Attended the one-day program Blended MOOC program at IIMB on July 22, 2017. Due to intervention from the course coordinator I was included in the group on the theme on Designing strategy courses using blended MOOC. 
  • External Adjudicator for M Phil thesis defence on a topic relating to Brand Management for a leading university in South India, April 2017.

  • Invited as the resource person for a Technical Session, during the National Seminar on "New Horizon and Innovation in Business and Management", in Maharani's Women Commerce and Management College", on February 19, 2018. She delivered a topic on "HRM and Organizational Sustainability".
  • Established the Indian Society for Training and Development (ISTD), Mysuru Chapter, as the Founding Chairperson. 
  • Evaluated the PhD Thesis (on the broad area of Emotional Competency and Transformational Leadership) and attended the PhD Viva, as the External Examiner for the Jain University, Bangalore . 
  • Worked as a part of the Editorial Committee of the annual magazine, published by the Innovative Forum of HR Associates (IFHA), the first ever online HR group of Mysore & Bangalore industries.
  • Attended the International Conference on Management & Behavioural Sciences (IC17Italy Conference), at Rome, Italy, 1-3 July 2017. Dr. Mousumi was the expert in the Panel discussion on "Innovative Instructional Strategies!   • Delivered the Special Address at the CII Southern Zone Workshop on- “Redesigning and Restructuring the Higher Education Management Programs in India" held at SDMIMD, Mysore on 24-25 January 2018
  • Participated in the Objective Setting session conducted by Mr Ravinder Bhan, a reputed corporate achiever on 20 January 2018 at Spring Board, Bengaluru.
  • Participated in the MBA Junction education fairs held by Career Launcher at Bhubaneswar and Kolkata on 13 & 14 January 2018 respectively, which saw over 200 student visits to the SDMIMD admissions stall
  • Prof Prasad SN, Chairperson-Admissions held an admission promotion session on MBA/PGDM entrance exams, application process for the SDMIMD PGDM 2018-20 admissions for the degree Final Year students of the SDM Degree College, Ujire and SDM College of Business Management, Mangalore on 15 Dec 2017.  Over 200 students at Ujire and approximately 70 students at Mangalore attended the event and interacted with Prof Prasad.  Prof Prasad was assisted by Mr Rajshekar. Library Staff SDMIMD.
  • 'India's group behaviour and team working' was the session delivered by Prof. S.N. Prasad, Professor - Strategy and General Management, at British University in Dubai (BUiD) to the MBA students.
  • Conducted 2 numbers of one hour Knowledge Sessions for the MBA/PGDM aspirants at NOIDA and Delhi along with Prof L Gandhi on 3 September 2017.  A total of 84 students attended the sessions.

The workshop was organised as part of St. Philomena's academic quality enhancement initiative and the topics covered during the sessions included Technology Trends changing the landscape of Education, Information Harvesting for academic content development and technology tools/techniques for effective teaching.
  • Delivered a talk on 'Effective Use of Google' with focus on filters and operators available in simple and advanced search along with Google Scholar to effectively communicate with Google. The talk was held at KVS – ZIET campus and was organized as part of the National Library Week Celebration (November 14-20, 2017)
