Dr. D Veerendra Heggade, Chairman of Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Institute for Management Development, Mysore (SDMIMD), received the prestigious re-accreditation of the Institute's flagship PGDM program in Lyon, France on 12th June 2023. At the award ceremony, along with Dr. D Veerendra Heggade, Vice President of the Trust, Shri. D Surendra Kumar and Director Emeritus of the Institute Dr. N R Parasuraman were present. The dignitaries from EFMD were; President Eric Cornuel, Director of Quality Services Alfons Sauquet, Director of EFMD Program accreditation Barbara Sporn and Advisor EFMD Nishit Jain.

In that, he explained how situations, the environment, the organizational culture, our initiative, and our involvement at a personal level lead to the development of ideas, improvizations and innovation and make us leaders. Unlike the conventional world, the current and the future world will be a networked world wherein the ability to think on one's feet and come up with solutions to problems, empathetic behavior, critical thinking, and application of technology are valued highly. He highlighted the importance of Creativity, Technology awareness and emotional intelligence take us through the journey of leadership. |
| Webinar on Role of Data Analytics in Decision Making |

The webinar is aimed at informing the incoming PGDM students on the importance of data analytics in decision making. They were exposed to the components of business analytics and informed about how analytics is being used in different domains. In the process, they were informed about the opportunities they have as management students in the area of analytics and were informed about their preparation for the analytics profile. They were also informed about the dimensions of analytics and how important is collecting quality data, the importance of cleaning of data, selection of the right method for analysis, and failure of models due to violation of assumptions, etc. The webinar concluded with questions from the students. |

Dr. K. Riyazahmed delivered a webinar on "Analytics in Business and Management", held on June 2, 2023. The webinar provided an update on the current state of using analytics, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning approaches in business processes. Furthermore, the students were taught about the practical applications of analytics models, particularly predictive analytics, in managerial decision-making. Similarly, the webinar explored the amount of textual data available today and strategies for analyzing it using text analytics tools. Finally, Dr. K. Riyazahmed placed emphasis on the importance of paying attention to the biases emanating from algorithm models before utilising them for business decisions. |
| Add-on certificate programme for M. Com students of SDM MMK |

A 32 hours Add-on certificate programme for M.Com students of MMKSDM, Mysore was conducted at SDMIMD from 5th June to 10th June 2023.
The programme was inaugurated by Director-SDMIMD Dr.S.N. Prasad. The sessions conducted by the faculty resource persons from SDMIMD in General Management and other functional area of Management.
The programme was well appreciated by the student participants and the Programme coordinator & faculty Dr.Devaki of SDM MMK.

| Soft skills workshop for Karnataka Police Academy, Mysore |

A full day Soft skills workshop conducted for 38 newly appointed Motor Vehicle Inspectors at Karnataka Police Academy, Mysore on 12th June 2023.
The programme was inaugurated by DSP Mr. Venkatesh - Assistant Director- Karnataka Police Academy which was followed by various sessions conducted by SDMIMD faculty resource persons on different soft skills.
The workshop sessions were designed and conducted in an activity oriented, actioned packed, and participative manner to add value to the career of the newly appointed Motor Vehicle Inspectors who are expected to perform their duty in their new Job Role shortly. The programme was well appreciated by the participants. |
