Dr. Kristian Alm, the distinguished Professor of Ethics at BI Norwegian Business School, Norway, and Head of Research on Global Bibliography on Whistleblowing, delivered an enlightening talk on the significance of building awareness about Whistleblowing for the benefit of employees, communities, and society as a whole. The talk, held on July 26, 2023, aimed to orient the PGDM Batch 2023-25 about the concept of Whistleblowing in the contemporary world. The talk emphasized the vital role Whistleblowing plays in promoting ethics, transparency, and accountability within organizations and institutions worldwide. During the talk organized on July 27, 2023, Dr. Heidi Karisen, a Senior Academic Librarian and Researcher at BI Norwegian Business School and Senior Lecturer at the University of Oslo, further enriched the discussion by presenting various real-life cases from both Indian and international contexts. A Guest Lecture on Responsible Business Strategy was organized for the first-year students on July 24 & 25, 2023. The talk was delivered by Dr. Shilpa Iyanna, Senior Lecturer in Marketing at New Castle Business School, Northumbria University. The aim of the workshop was to provide the students with insights into the process of brand building.

Dr. Jyotsna Bhatnagar, Dean Research, Professor, Organizational Behavior & Human Resource Management at IMD, Delhi, delivered a talk on "Emerging Dimensions of HR" on July 25, 2023. The session was a comprehensive exploration of a HR professional's challenges and possibilities in today's business world. Her insights and expertise offered valuable takeaways for attendees to enhance their HR practices and drive organisational success through effective people management.

SDMIMD organised a one-day Research Development Program on “Writing Impactful Research Paper for Indexed Journal: Editor’s Perspective” on July 7, 2023. The key focus of the program was to disseminate the fundamental ideas of a journal’s expectations from a research paper and build the capacity of the participants to write a good-quality manuscript. The day-long program covered pertinent topics such as an overview of different types of research, conceptualization of the research theme, structuring a research paper, research ethics and journal selection. The event was attended by 60 participants who were research scholars and Faculty affiliating to organisations from different parts of the country.

A 14-hour Faculty Development Programme was conducted at SDM College of Ayurveda and Hospital, Udupi for their Professors & Doctors on 6th and 7th July 2023.

The Overseas students in India received the Certificate for attending the Program on Developing Business Excellence [DBE] – with a Sense of Social Responsibility, designed and offered by SDMIMD Mysore, on July 5, 2023, during the award function held at SDMIMD campus. Read More>

As a part of the orientation program to the new batch of students, a trip to Dharmasthala was organized on July 17-18, 2023. Students got the opportunity to see first hand the numerous social activities going on in Dharmasthala, as well as have the opportunity of interacting with Chairman Dr. D Veerendra Heggade. The students were introduced to the large scale food supply logistics that caters for over 50000 or more pilgrims at the Dharmasthala Temple every day of the year. The students thoroughly enjoyed the experience and had a lot of good things to say about the inspiration they received on meeting Dr. Heggade and being in the holy place.
