| Faculty on Overseas Exchange Program 2018 |

SDMIMD has collaborated with international management institutes of repute to conduct Exchange Programs for an understanding of management from an international perspective. Faculty and Students from both the collaborative institutions have an opportunity of participating in foreign exchange program every year.
This year 4 faculty members from SDMIMD are invited by the universities overseas to conduct courses.
Dr. R. Jagadeesh, Professor - Operations, is invited by British University in Dubai (BUiD), Dubai;
Dr. R. Sugant, Professor - Marketing will be taking sessions at the University of Montevideo, Uruguay;
Dr. S.N. Prasad, Professor - Strategic Marketing, will conduct the course on International perspectives in Strategy at ESC Pau, France; and, Prof. M. Minhaj, Faculty-Systems, will deliver sessions on Business Analytics at Business Analytics Institute, France.

| International Placement Opportunities for SDMites |

The international accreditation - EFMD-EPAS, has not only given a quality stamp to the SDMIMD’s flagship program – Post Graduate Diploma in Management PGDM program, but opened avenues for International Placement Opportunities for SDMites. SDMIMD has entered into an arrangement with Highered EFMD for enabling students to participate in international placement processes initiated by Highered. The Placements 2018-19 will give Students of SDMIMD to participate in the placement process by international companies listed by Highered.

| ‘Leadership in Education Award’ to Dr. N.R. Parasuraman |

SDMIMD Director and Professor in Finance Dr. N.R. Parasuraman has been selected for the 'Leadership in Education Award 2018' by the Higher Education Forum (HEF).
Every year HEF select the eminent educationist who has contributed substantially in improving education ecosystem, in general, higher education system, in particular; with academic achievements. This year the award was presented during the Annual Meet of the Gujarat Chapter of HEF held in joint aegis with the M.S. University held in Vadodara on September 29, 2018. |

SDMIMD organized the 7th edition of the International Finance Conference - Emerging Trends in Finance, Accounting and Banking on September 7 and 8, 2018. The conference discussed and deliberated on the theme Global Recovery- India at the crossroads. Dr. N.R. Parasuraman, Director and Professor- Finance, SDMIMD, inaugurated the conference and delivered the inaugural address on the conference theme. Earlier, Dr. M. Sriram, Conference Chair and Assistant Professor- Finance, welcomed the gathering and introduced the theme of the conference.
The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Prasanna Chandra, Director, Centre for Financial Management, Bengaluru. Dr. Chandra focused the keynote on ‘Behavioural Finance’ and its relevance in the context of research in capital markets. Read More>

'The focus, clarity of intuit and putting the organizations above everything else are the hallmarks of a leader' thus said Mr. B. Muthuraman, Former Vice Chairman of Tata Steel, while delivering the Foundation Day Lecture of SDMIMD held on September 20, 2018.
The Foundation Day started with a formal lighting the lamp ceremony. Dr. M R Suresh, Professor - Marketing, SDMIMD, Mysore, delivered the Welcome speech. Dr. Suresh presented the significance of the day and recalled the leadership lessons shared by various speakers who have graced the occasion in the previous years. The pre-conference workshop on ‘Empirical Research in Finance’ was held on September 6, 2018. The workshop was inaugurated by Prof. S.N. Hegde, Former Vice Chancellor, University of Mysore. In his inaugural address, Prof. Hegde highlighted how a systematized research in financial management can bring constructive changes in higher educational institutions. Earlier, Dr. N.R. | Workshop on Lean Six-Sigma Green Belt |

Mr. Vikas from KPMG (Klynvelt Peat Marwick Goerdeler) was the resource person for the Lean Six Sigma Green Belt workshop organized for the PGDM 2017-19 Batch during September 2018. The 4-day workshop was inaugurated by Dr. R. Jagadeesh, Professor - Operations, SDMIMD, on September 15, 2018.
The workshop introduced the statistical tool “MINITAB” to solve analytical problems and gave insight on how use of six sigma techniques can give better growth of the organization. Several live industrial examples along with industrial applications were discussed during the workshop. The training program concluded with Assessment Test and a feedback session. |

Theater Act on
'Education and Social Reformation' |

Dr. R. Poornima, Professor - English (Retd.), Karnataka State Open University (KSOU), Mysore, and her team presented stage performance on the theme 'Education and Social Reformation' at Institute Auditorium. The performance touched upon the various neurological disorders and how people with such disorders behave. Further, the performance introduced how education can be used as a tool to overcome such disorders and impact of such change among the people and society as a whole. The Khalanubhav team of SDMites coordinated the program. |
