Swayam - the Entrepreneurship Cell (e-Cell) of SDMIMD was formally launched in September 2013. Swayam was conceptualized with the overall goal of giving a thrust to entrepreneurship related activities. These include student activities, supporting local entrepreneurs, knowledge creation and dissemination in this emerging area.

The culmination event of various entrepreneurship activities undertaken by SWAYAM - The eCell of SDMIMD students is Startup Charcha.

The Startup Charcha 2021 is scheduled on Friday, March 12, 2021; from 2:00 PM onwards. The virtual panel discussion on the topic "How Start-ups Succeed and Why they Fail?" will have Mr Saurabh Shah, Vice President, Idea Lemon Institute for Entrepreneurship, Nagpur; Mr R. Nataraj, PhD Scholar, SDMIMD; and, Ms Meghana R. PGDM Student, SDMIMD; as members. The discussion will be moderated by Dr Prasad S.N., Professor - Strategy, SDMIMD.
