Launch of IT Club by SDMites

IT Club Considering the growing significance of Information Technology in Management, SDMites have taken an initiative to form a forum to facilitate discussions, talks by executives from the IT industry and other activities for better understanding of IT. The forum christened as “Club Silicon” aims to maintain and disseminate an updated knowledge base and evangelizing the use of IT in various functions of management. As part of its launch on 9th October 2012, “Technetium” an IT quiz was organized in the campus which involved general, visual and faceoff rounds. The team consisting of Vinay, Nilesh, Shilpa S Menon, Ayush Majumder and Sachin Patel emerged victorious.

International Study Tour 2012

The Institute-sponsored International Trip to Malaysia for all first year PGDM students got underway on October 11, 2012 with the departure of first batch. Students of all the sections have completed the international tour. The study tour of a full week long is aimed in providing hands-on experience in International Business Affairs covering socio-economic and cultural situations. The academic visit to University of Nottingham and corporate visits contributed in achieving the aim of the study tour.

Abhigyaan 2012: The ultimate undergraduate fest

Abhigyaan – Ultimate Undergraduates Fest, the annual management fest for undergraduate students organized by SDMites held on October 1 & 2, 2012. The two-day event gave an opportunity to 500 odd students from Engineering and Degree colleges to experience the management aspects through well-designed management games, paper presentations, testing their entrepreneurial skills, quiz, team-based events, testing their presence of mind, Mad-Ad and Treasure Hunt. Madras Christian College, Chennai, emerged as overall champions.

Khoj 2019  
Khoj - the talent search festival of SDMites is a platform for the new batch of PGDM 2019-21 to showcase their aptitude. Kohj 2019 was organized on August 3, 2019, to identify talent among the freshers through various competitions and to formally Welcome them to student committees of the Institute. The show by the new PGDM batch 2019-21 was laced with impromptu speeches, colourful dances, humorous skits, classical songs and fancy dress shows. Seniors PGDM 2018-19 Batch hosted the event and introduced the various clubs & committees to the new bees on the campus. 
Khoj 2018
Khoj - the talent search festival of SDMites is a platform to for the new batch of PGDM to showcase their aptitude. Kohj 2018 was organized on August 4, 2018, to identify talent among the freshers through various competitions and to formally Welcome them to student committees of the Institute. The show by the new PGDM batch 2018-20 was laced with impromptu speeches, colourful dances, humorous skits, classical songs and fancy dress shows.
Khoj 2017
Khoj - the talent search festival of SDMites is a platform to for the new batch of PGDM to showcase their skills in various areas. Kohj 2017 was organized on July 10, 2017 to identify the gifted freshers through various competitions and to formally welcome them to the student committees of the Institute. The show by the new PGDM batch 2017-19 was laced with impromptu speeches, colourful dances, humorous skits, classical songs and fancy dress shows.
Khoj 2016
Khoj - the talent search festival of SDMites is a platform to for the new batch of PGDM to showcase their aptitude. Kohj 2016 was organized on July 18, 2016 to identify talent among the freshers through various competitions and to formally welcome them to student committees of the Institute. The show by the new PGDM batch 2016-18 was laced with impromptu speeches, colourful dances, humourous skits, classical songs and fancy dress shows.
Khoj 2015
Khoj, the intra-college festival of SDMites, organized every year for the new batch of PGDM program was on July 13, 2015. The aim of the festival was to identify talent among the freshers through various competitions and to formally welcome them to student activities. The show by the new PGDM batch 2015-17 was laced with impromptu speeches, colourful dances, humourous skits, classical songs and fancy dress shows. 
Khoj 2014
Khoj is an intra collage festival which is organized every year after the new PGDM batch arrives at SDMIMD. The purpose of the festival is to identify talent among the fresher’s through various competition and to formally welcome them to the PGDM Program. Khoj 2013 was held on June 23, 2013. It greatly helped the seniors to identify the talent among juniors. The new PGDM batch 2013-15 gave a fantastic show with impromptu speeches, colourful dances, skits and fancy dress shows.KHOJ 2014, the talent search event of SDMIMD, shouldered by Team Samprati was a glimpse into what's in store for the upcoming festivals. With a myriad of events and plethora of new activities, it marked the beginning of the academic year and assured a scintillating festival season in college.

KHOJ 2014 kicked off with the skits performed by the first year students on 3rd and 4th of July 2014. It was really entertaining. Most of the teams performed very well. The core events of KHOJ 2014 were on 5th of July. The first program was RANGOLI the event to show your creativity and originality with colours. It was a group event with time management playing a major role. It was followed by ‘MEMORY GAME’ a game which tests your memory and knowledge of brands simultaneously. It was a great platform for the participants to use their presence of mind and showcase their awareness on brands. The flagship event of KHOJ 2014 was ‘STAND OUTS’. It was an event which searches the CHANKAYAS of today’s world. Participant’s ability to stand firm on their feet and work within the stipulated time was the main criteria for winning. Apart from these, there were events like ‘ADRENALINE CHASE’ which tested the participants on their co – ordination skills and how well they managed to get a list of tasks done in stipulated time and ‘QUIZ’ which tested the participant on his/her knowledge and how updated they are on general issues. Another main attraction of KHOJ 2014 was the Cultural Events, which was a blend of dancing, singing, comedy and fashion show. It was amazing to see those young talents performing.

KHOJ 2014 ended by opening the gates of talent in the young minds of SDMIMD. It’s just the beginning of what’s in store.

Abhigyaan

Competition for Undergraduate students organized by SDMIMD students - Abhigyaan 2011 was held on October 1 and October 2, 2011 at Institute campus. Students of the undergraduate colleges from across the state participated in Abhigyaan 2011. At the end of the two days, the SDM College of Business Management, Mangalore won the Overall Trophy.

Samprati

Samprathi
Samprathi is also the connection between SDMIMD and the world of commerce and industry. Samrathi's priority is social issues. A variety of management games are arranged annually and the proceeds of these events go to the underprivileged.

Inter-class cricket, volleyball, table tennis matches form part of every day life at SDMIMD. Special days such as Independence Day, Diwali, Republic Day, Fresher's parties, Farewells are again, an opportunity for students to showcase their talent.

Adopt and Nurture a School Program

Students of SDMIMD are known to make things different. As a part of social responsibility, SDMites donated furniture to Government Senior Higher Primary School, KARP Body Guard Line, Siddarthanagar, Mysore. During the past 4 years SDMIMD is supporting the said school in developing infrastructure facility and contributing towards softskills development of children. Requirements in the area of sports, excursions and extra learning have been also met by SDMIMD student community.

66th Independence Day Celebration

SDMites celebrated 66th Independence Day at their campus with full of pomp and gaiety. Prof. R. Jagadeesh unfurled the National Flag and shared some of his experience at Philadelphia and highlighted the importance of our National Anthem. Dr N.R. Parasuraman Director, gave away the certificates to students who won at various tournament held at the Institute. Ms Shilpa Giri, Ms Mythri HN and Mr Kunal Kumar shared their thoughts on the occasion with the flashback of freedom struggle, Legacies left by the past leaders and India's achievements. Later, after the community breakfast at Institute's Mess, the Sports Committee Members organized "Scholars Sports Carnival" which went on throughout the day and attracted one and all. Sports events Viz. Tug of War, Throw Ball, Volley Ball, Three Legged Race, Aiming the wicket, Bucket the TT Ball, Fast walk with hurdles of eating bananas and blowing the balloon, Sack Race and Basket Ball were organized.

Clevertize

Clevertize: The advertising workshop was held on March 24, 2012. The workshop provided the table experiences and learning of the mavens of the respective fields and puts to light the ways in which they have known and befriended this clever art of advertising, which often pretends to be a science. Academicians, students, media persons and the working executives from the ad world participated in this one-day workshop.
