Dr. M.R. Suresh is an alumnus of Institute of Rural Management - Anand (IRMA), and has Ph.D. in Management from The M S University of Baroda. His doctorate examined strategic responses across ownership forms in the context of market changes. 
 
He has 30 plus years of experience in research, consultancy, and academics. 
 
Dr. M.R. Suresh has contributed and led initiatives in the development of Renewable Energy research group in TERI and helped in the expansion of the Bangalore Division of Tata Economic Consultancy Services (TECS). Dr. Suresh has handled assignments, as a Principal Consultant, in a variety of organisational contexts, for both profit and non-profit sectors while at TECS. He was a Faculty Member in IRMA, Indian Institute of Plantation Management (Ministry of Commerce) and ICFAI Business School. Dr. Suresh has taught marketing courses and designed electives and has held academic administration positions such as Alumni Coordinator in IRMA, Special Focus Area facilitator in IIPM. He was also Administration Coordinator at IIPM. He took the initiative to set up the Entrepreneurship Cell at SDMIMD and has nurtured it since inception. He is currently Chairperson of the Entrepreneurship Cell.
 
Dr. Suresh has also designed and conducted MDPs and associates with initiatives in developing Leadership in Public Services. He has also completed various modules of NEN-IIMB Entrepreneurship Educators Programme.

He is Co-Winner of Emerald - AIMA 2008 Indian Management Research Fund Award. In addition, the other awards, he has won include:

  • Award for Academic Excellence for outstanding contribution to teaching and research" By Higher Education Forum (HEF), Mumbai, 2018-19
  • Best Reviewer Award from Global Business Research Journals (GBRJ)  and the Advisory Board (Policies), chosen as one of the 10 ‘Best Reviewers’ from among 450 reviewers from across the world, 2019
  • Winner of Emerald group (UK) - AIMA Indian Management Research Fund Award, 2008-09.Only proposal selected for award that year. Proposal designed jointly with Dr MK Sridhar, then in Karnataka Knowledge Commission and Dr R Joshi of Wipro

Dr. Mihir Mahapatra obtained his Ph. D in Economics from Utkal University on a Reserve Bank of India Doctoral Fellowship. His area of interest and the papers he teaches include Microeconomics, Macroeconomics and Economic Environment of Business. He was earlier with the Goa Institute of Management (GIM), Goa and has also worked with the Centre for Multi-Disciplinary Development Research (CMDR), Dharwad, Karnataka and the Economic and Political Weekly Research Foundation (EPMRF), Mumbai. He has published papers in national and international refereed journals and contributed articles in edited books published by Springer Verlag, Tata-Mcgraw Hill and New Century.

He has worked on or been associated with, various research projects sponsored by national and international agencies, including the Planning Commission (Government of India), Canara Bank, European Economic Commission and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

He also participated in capacity building programmes sponsored by the World Bank, UNCTAD and organised by National Institute of Public Finance and Policy (NIPFP), New Delhi and Centre for Development Studies (CDS), Thiruvananthapuram. Currently, he is a life member of prominent economic organisations/associations including the Indian Economic Association, Indian Society of Labour Economics, Orissa Economics Association and member of AIMS International.

Dr. Mousumi completed her PhD from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur, India. She has done MA in HRM from University of West London (formerly known as Thames Valley University), London, UK, completed GradIPD qualification from the Institute of Personnel and Development (IPD), London, UK, and earned a Post Graduate Diploma in Public Relations from Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, India. She has more than 24 years of working experience as a consultant, teacher, researcher and trainer, in the field of HRM, and OB. She has published four books, several book chapters, research papers in international and national journals and presented papers in national and international conferences. 
 
Dr. Mousumi has been teaching in reputed institutes and universities in India and abroad, such as, ESC Business School, Pau, France; Heilbronn University of Applied Sciences, Heilbronn, Germany; British University in Dubai (BUiD), Dubai, UAE; IISWBM, Kolkata; IMT, Nagpur; PESSE, Bangalore; and Amrita Viswa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore. She has also taught in the management courses offered by foreign universities in India, such as, Dominican University, US; Lubeck University, Germany; Auckland University of Technology, New Zealand; and, Cambridge University, UK (British Council, Kolkata). She is a registered PhD guide at University of Mysore and an external PhD thesis examiner in universities in India and abroad. 
 
Dr. Mousumi is a Mentor for the Centre for Human Resource, KCT Business School, Coimbatore; Honorary Member, Advisory Board, Arcus Academy Private Limited, Mysore; member of the Academic Council of Karnatak Law Society's Institute of Management Education and Research (KLS-IMER); External Member (Academics- HR) of the Advisory Committee at Maharaja Institute of Technology Mysore; and an empanelled consultant at TRI Mumbai, and ConnectEd Thailand. 
 
Her book entitled “Emotional Intelligence: Myth or Reality” has won the Second Prize of the ISTD Book award 2007-2008. Her PhD Thesis was awarded as the Best Management Thesis at PIMR Indore in 2005.  She was awarded as the Best Professor in HRM, by the Asia Pacific HRM Congress”, in 2022. She is the Founding Chairperson of ISTD Mysore Chapter.

Dr. Nilanjan Sengupta has a Masters in Sociology from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. He has obtained a PhD in Sociology from Visva Bharati University, Shantineketan, West Bengal, India. He has graduated with a Major in Psychology and Sociology from Elphinstone College, University of Mumbai, India.
 
Dr. Nilanjan Sengupta has more than 19 years of working experience as an educator and practitioner in the field of management. He has worked as a teacher, trainer, researcher and management consultant in national level management institutes like, NIBM Pune, EDI Ahmedabad, IMT Nagpur, and has held important academic and administrative positions in his career. He has taught in the management programs offered by foreign universities in India, like University of Michigan, Lubeck University Germany, and Cambridge University UK (British Council Kolkata). He has also worked in the corporate sector covering both the manufacturing and IT sectors in managerial positions. He has consulted with international bodies like The World Bank, E.C. and IFAD (Rome) and OXFAM (India) in a number of international and national projects. He has an impressive track record of publications with more than 30 papers in national and international journals, conferences and seminars and 5 books in the areas of management and social sciences, respectively. He is in the Editorial and Advisory Boards of several prestigious journals. Dr. Sengupta is a registered PhD guide at VTU, Belgaum & University of Mysore. He is also an empanelled consultant at TRI, Mumbai and ConnectEd, Thailand. He has conducted several training programs in the field of HR and Behavioural Sciences for banks, financial institutions, government organizations, private & corporate sector institutions and NGOs.

    His qualifications include B.E. (Mysore University), M.E. (Madras University), Diploma in Production Management (Annamalai University), Six Sigma Green Belt, and Ph.D. (I I T, Bombay). He has also certifications in PMP Preparation and CMM. He has worked as full time faculty at Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering (SJCE), Mysore and also served as Director of Bhavan SIET Institute of Management, Bangalore. Since 2006, he has been associated as Adjunct Faculty at Richard J. Fox School of Business and Management, Temple University, Philadelphia, USA, where, he teaches a course on Operations Management.

    He has co-authored the Indian adaptation of the book Operations Management by Jay Heizer and Barry Render, published by Pearson Education. He has published more than 90 research papers in reputed national and international journals and conferences. He is the Advisor (India Operations) Emerald, UK, which publishes a large number of international publications. He is Member of Editorial Advisory Board for The TQM Journal, Peer reviewer for International Journal of Education and Training, Quality Assurance in Education and Journal of Management Development. He is listed by Marquis Who's Who 2010 US Edition. He also holds PG Diploma in Production Management and Certification in Six Sigma Green Belt. He was the Chief Editor of the SDMIMD Journal of Management. He has guided doctoral candidates in the area of TQM, ISO 9000, Six sigma and Knowledge based Entrepreneurship under  University of Mysore, Visveswaraya Technological University, and University of Azteca, Mexico. He has won the National award honored by Indian Society for Technical Education as Best M.Tech Thesis Project Guide. His contribution to his research area has won the special appreciation certificate from Indian Institute of Materials Management.

    He has conducted several training program and consultancy projects in the area of quality management, supply chain management and research activities. He is the member of many engineering, quality and academic associations and bodies.

    Dr. Gayathri has more than 30 years of experience as an educator in the field of Management. She was associated as an adjunct faculty with reputed Indian Institutes of Management Kozhikode (IIMK), HAL Management Academy and was a resource person with Staff Training College of SBM. She is a licenced NLP practitioner. She has conducted more than 100 training programs to the corporates in the area of Business Negotiations, Marketing and Self-Empowerment.

    She has assisted various companies in Market Research Studies and has help in developing Strategic Marketing Plans. Her areas of interest are Business Negotiation Skills, Marketing, Self-Empowerment and Leadership Influencing Skills. She has published articles in the area of Marketing and has taken up consultancy assignments.

    She is a registered Ph.D. guide at University of Mysore.

    Dr. N.R.Parasuraman is currently the Director and Senior Professor at SDM Institute for Management Development, Mysore.  He is a Fellow member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India and the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants, and a Commerce and Law graduate. His Ph.D was on Capital Structure of Indian Companies. He has 37 years of experience in diverse areas of finance.  His special areas of teaching and research are Strategy, Financial Derivatives, Multinational Finance and Corporate Valuation. Dr. Parasuraman is a visiting faculty at the Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode, Indian Institute of Management, Rohtak, Indian Institute of Management, Udaipur and the Rajiv Gandhi Indian Institute of Management, Shillong.  He has published over 30 papers and concept articles in various journals. He has authored a book titled “FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT – A Step-by-Step Approach”, published by Cengage which has now gone into a 2nd edition. Apart from this book, his earlier work ‘FUNDAMENTALS OF FINANCIAL DERIVATIVES’ published by Wiley India Limited, is very popular among the teachers and students of Derivatives has gone into a third edition. He has co-authored with Eugene Brigham and Scott Besley the South-Asian edition of ‘Corporate Finance (CFIN)’ brought out by Cengage.  He can be reached at nrparasuraman@sdmimd.ac.in
