Webinar on Dynamics in Leadership

To acquaint students to understand and differentiate the managerial behaviour from leadership; and, to introduce the characteristics of effective leaders and ethical leadership, an online session on ‘Dynamic Leadership’ was organized on July 8, 2020 to the PGDM 2020-2022 Batch. Dr. Nilanjan Sengupta, Professor – OB & HR, SDMIMD, Mysuru, delivered the session. 

Webinar on Managing Sustainably

The webinar on ‘Managing Sustainably’ organized for the incoming PGDM 2020-2022 Batch on July 10, 2020 was a curtain raiser on the issue of sustainability which is a contemporary topic. Dr. M.R. Suresh, Professor – Marketing, SDMIMD, provided insights on mainstreaming sustainability as a business concept in the form of sustainable enterprises; and introduced the concept of triple bottom line to students with relevant examples.

Webinar on Leadership

Mr Amit Kumar, Business Unit Head, L&T Ltd., Mysuru; and Chairman CII-Mysuru Chapter, delivered the invited talk on ‘Leadership’ held on July 4, 2020. The webinar helped the PGDM 2019-2021 Batch to understand the different dimensions of leadership and the speaker explained with several examples from his career.

‘Strategic Business Planning’ was the topic for the Webinar scheduled on June 27, 2020 for the PGDM 2019-2021 Batch. The nuances of strategic business planning with live cases and examples was explained by the speaker Mr Niranjan Naik, National Sales Head - Energy and Building Solutions, Bosch India Ltd; and, President, Prerana – SDMIMD Alumni Association; alumnus of PGDM 1995-97.

Webinar on Management Information Systems

‘Management Information Systems’ was the topic for the introductory webinar held on June 18, 2020 delivered by Prof. Malathi Sriram, Faculty – System, SDMIMD. Prof. Malathi introduced to the PGDM 2020-2022 Batch, the need of Information Systems in an organization. Further, the requirement of an MIS for decision-making and the use of information system in business processes were discussed. 

Webinar on Role of Data Analytics in Decision Making and Opportunities for Management Students

The webinar on ‘Role of Data Analytics in Decision Making and Opportunities for Management Students’ was designed for the incoming first-year students of PGDM Program with an objective to make them understand the importance of data analytics in decision making, and delivered on June 11, 2020. The webinar session delivered by Dr. G. Srilakshminarayana, Associate Professor– Quantitative Methods, SDMIMD, introduced the components of business analytics and informed about how analytics is being used in different domains. In the process, the young managers were informed about the latest developments and the opportunities they have in the corporate world. 

Webinar on Importance of Costing in Management Decision Making

‘Importance of Costing in Management Decision Making’ was the topic for the Webinar organized on June 4, 2020 by the faculty resource Prof. S. Kannadas, Assistant Professor – Finance, SDMIMD. Prof. Kannadas provided insights on significance of cost control to sustain the business in the long run. And, explained how the management decisions of any business revolve around cost effective operations than profit maximizing especially during the initial days.

Webinar on Strategy Management

Dr. S.N. Prasad, Professor – Strategy, SDMIMD, conducted webinar on ‘Strategy in Management’ on May 28, 2020 to the incoming PGDM 2020-2022 Batch. The faculty resource introduced the concept of ‘Business Strategy’. The session covered the application of fundamental management learnings to the construct of Competitive Advantage and Value Creation.
