Dr. Anand Sasikumar is an accomplished academic and professional with over 18 years of diverse experience spanning academia and industry. He holds a Ph.D. in Operations and Supply Chain Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Mumbai. He earned his Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Concordia University, Canada, which is consistently ranked among the top six Canadian universities for Mechanical and Industrial Engineering in Maclean’s subject-based rankings, with Industrial Engineering ranked around 97th globally. In addition, he holds an MBA with a specialization in Systems from Bangalore University.
 
Dr. Anand has further enhanced his professional credentials with a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification from VarSigma, which is an Exemplar Global (a member of the ASQ family) Certified TPECS Provider for Six Sigma Competency, ensuring global recognition of the certification. He also holds a certification in Project Management from Indira Gandhi University. His academic and training expertise spans a wide range of contemporary areas in operations and supply chain management, including Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Smart Manufacturing, Sustainability, and Industry 4.0/5.0. He has undertaken specialized training programs at NIT Trichy and the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode, and his technical expertise is further complemented by advanced training in analytics at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore.
 
His research interests include Lean Six Sigma, Sustainability, Closed-Loop Supply Chains, and the Circular Economy, where he actively explores the integration of efficiency, innovation, and environmental responsibility within supply chain and manufacturing systems.
 
Dr. Anand has been associated with several premier business schools prior to joining SDMIMD. His academic career includes significant contributions at Rajagiri Business School, Kochi; Acharya Bangalore B-School, Bangalore; and SCMS School of Technology and Management, Kochi, where he was actively involved in teaching, research, and institutional development.
