Union Budget Conclave 2022

SDMIMD and BCIC (Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce) organized the annual post-budget analysis event Union Budget Conclave 2022 on February 2, 2022. The event was organized under the aegis of SDMIMD-BCIC Centre for Excellence in Management (CEM).
 
The panelists comprising of Mr. K.R. Sekar, President BCIC and Partner, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu LLP; and Mr. T.R. Parasuraman, President and Wholetime Director, Toyota Industries Engine India Pvt Ltd;  were unanimous in the opinion that the budget was growth-oriented with more focus on infrastructural development, impetus on digital economy and strengthening of the manufacturing sector. All the announcements lead towards making Atmanirbhar Bharath. 
 
The panelists lauded the Government's commitment to pushing the capital expenditure cycle as it helps generate employment opportunities and helps revive demand and consumption. The interlinking of four rivers as part of the river linking project would bring immense benefits to the farmers and the agriculture sector. The immediate sanction and release of direct benefit payments to the farmers would revive rural consumption. The Government's challenge was to control the fiscal deficit and implementation of schemes that called for resources and time.

The first-year PGDM students – Mr. Sharath K.S., Mr. Guru Pranesh, Ms. Abilasha, Mr. Appaiah M.M. - presented the salient features of the Union Budget 2022 during the event. The presentation by the students was appreciated and lauded by the members of BCIC.
