Dr Stephen Aro-Gordon is an assistant professor in the Department of Business and Accounting at Muscat College, Oman, affiliated with the University of Stirling (UK) and Universiti Malaysia Pahang (Malaysia). Before becoming an academic, he had twenty years of industry experience across leading companies and investment banking corporations. Previously, he taught at Baze University, the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria, School of Banking Honours, and other leading business schools in Nigeria. He has been a visiting professor at the Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Institute for Management Development (SDMIMD), Mysore, India, since 2015. Educated in Nigeria and the UK, he has been an external examiner in strategic management and leadership since 2012 and a chief examiner in a project management programme since 2017. His primary research, teaching and consulting interests are focused on finance and strategy, evaluating sustainability and valuation issues in emerging markets. His latest research on industrial capital budgeting practices has been funded by the Oman Ministry of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation. He has received several awards, including prizes for being the best graduating student at the University of Nigeria, the International Merchant Bank (IMB) Special Merit Award, and the Best Reviewer Award from the Journal of Emerging Issues in Economics, Finance and Banking. He is passionate about being an added value to people and organisations.
