Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara Institute for Management Development (SDMIMD) Mysore organized the 4th International Conference on Emerging Trends in Finance & Accounting from August 20 – 22, 2015 at its serene campus located at the foothill of the world-famous Chamundi-Hills in Mysore, Karnataka, India. 
The International Conference commenced with a Conference Workshop on the theme – “Empirical Research in Finance” organized on August 20 (Thursday), 2015. The workshop witnessed representation of 41 participants representing India and the countries of Republic of Iran, Republic of Yemen, Bangladesh, and Malaysia. Dr. KuldeepKumar, Professor, Faculty of Business & Economics, Bond University, Australia was the key resource person. Dr. N. R. Parasuraman, Director & Professor – Finance, SDMIMD India; Dr. Vasumathy Hariharan, Associate Professor – Finance, SRM University, India; Dr. Stephen Aro-Gordon, Dept. Chair of Financial Mathematics, Baze University, Nigeria, and Dr. Ullas Rao, Associate Professor – Finance, SDMIMD India were the other illustrious resource persons who addressed the audience. 
The International Conference was inaugurated on August 21 (Friday) by Shri T. Srikanth Bhagavat, Managing Director & Principal Advisor – Hexagon Wealth, India. In his Key Note Address, Mr. Bhagavat highlighted the critical role played by India in contributing towards world economic development for several thousands of years. The presentation enriched with vignettes of trends in world economic trade and macro-data made up for a perfect opening of the proceedings of the two-day International Conference.
The International Conference witnessed participation of 108 delegates representing prestigious universities and centres of higher learning from India and abroad, who presented papers on highly invigorating and insightful themes within the realms of Finance & Accounting. The countries represented included Australia, Malaysia, Bangladesh, Republic of Yemen, UAE, Kingdom of Bahrain, Republic of Iran, Nigeria, Ethiopia, and France.
Dr. Elango Rengasamy – Head of Banking & Finance Program, British University in Dubai (BuID), UAE and Dr. Kuldeep Kumar, Professor of Economics, Bond University, Australia delivered the Technical Sessions on August 21 (Friday), 2015. While Dr. Rengasamy delivered the technical session on “GREXIT & BRIXIT: Implication for India”, Dr. Kumar’s talk centred upon “Financial Statement Analysis & Fraud Detection”. The invited technical sessions were received very well by the participating audience that included an interactive Q&A session.
One of the key highlights of the International Conference was the “Summit on Microfinance” organized on August 22 (Saturday), 2015. The summit witnessed representation from some of the most respected Microfinance Institutions in India sharing the dais with Dr. Arvind Ashta, Holder of the Banque Populaire Chair in Microfinance, Burgundy School of Business, France. Representatives from SKS MicrofinanceUjjivan Financial Services, Micrograam, and RUDSETI participated in an enchanting panel discussion organized on the theme – “Opportunities & Challenges surrounding the MFI sector in India”. The panel discussion was moderated by Dr. Arvind Ashta
The Valedictory Address was delivered by the renowned financial expert – Dr. Prasanna Chandra, Director – Centre for Financial Management (CFM) and Former Professor of Finance – IIM Bangalore. In his address, Dr. Chandra enlightened the audience on Corporate Value Creation by highlighting the process of wealth creation exemplified by the legendary Warren Buffett and his Berkshire Hathaway. Dr. Stephen Aro-Gordon in his address stressed upon the significant opportunities available to the international investing community in the emerging market of Nigeria.
With a footfall of more than 160 participants across the three days from August 20 – 22, 2015, SDMIMD Mysore literally turned into a financial village making the 4thInternational Conference on Emerging Trends in Finance & Accounting a stupendous success. 

Malaysia Conference 2015

 
SDMIMD, Mysore and J.A. Alpha Business Research & Publishers jointly organized the 4th Asia-Pacific Conference on Global Business, Economics, Finance and Social Sciences during August 7-9, 2015 at Hotel GTower Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on the theme Financial Inclusion! The Road Map!
Dr. Mohd Zaini B Abd Karim, Department of Economics, University Utara Malaysia, delivered the Keynote Address on “Efficiency of firms: Implications for Malaysia” during the inaugural session of the Conference. The technical sessions on Emerging Trends in Research Practices by Prof. Sugumaran Narayanan, Midwestern State University, USA, and Prof. Lee Mick Swartz, University of Southern California, USA, on Executive Compensation: Trends and Legislation, were well received
The panel discussion on ‘Ensuring Academic Integrity and Preventing Plagiarism - The Role of an Academician’ was another key event of the conference. Dr. Ullas Rao, SDMIMD, India; Ma. Riza Manalo, University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos, Philippines; Dr. Shuo YAN, Bocconi University, Italy; and, Dr. Mei Foong Wong, Tunku Abdul Rahman University College, Malaysia; were the panel experts. Dr. Elango Rengasamy, Professor-Finance, British University in Dubai, the International Exchange Program Institute of SDMIMD, moderated the panel discussion.  

Singapore Conference 2015

SDMIMD, Mysore and J.A. Alpha Business Research & Publishers jointly organized the 3rd Asia Pacific Conference on Global Business, Economics, Finance and Banking on the theme Managing ‘Black swans’ and Strategic Risks - Enhancing Risk Culture in Banking and Financial Institutions! at Singapore, during July 17-19, 2015. 
Dr. A. Seetharaman, Dean - Academic Affairs, S.P. Jain School of Global Management, Singapore Campus delivered the Keynote Address on the conference theme during the inaugural session of the Conference. Dr. N.R. Parasuraman, Director & Professor - Finance, SDMIMD, delivered the invited talk on ‘Risk Management – quantitative and qualitative aspects’. Another invited talk during the technical session was delivered by Dr. T. Srinivasa Rao, Professor of Commerce & Business Management, SDLCE, Kakatiya University. 
Dr. Elango Rengasamy, Professor-Finance, British University in Dubai, the International Exchange Program Institute of SDMIMD, coordinated the conference. 

Switzerland Conference 2015

SDMIMD, Mysore and J.A. Alpha Business Research & Publishers jointly organized the Second European Academic Research Conference on Global Business, Economics, Finance and Banking (EAR15_SWISS Conference) on the theme “The Reshaping of the Global Economic Scenario - Financing for Development!” at Zurich, Switzerland during July 3-5, 2015.  
Prof. N.R. Parasuraman, Director, SDMIMD, delivered the invited talk on ‘Financial Analysis and Risk – Quantitative vs. Qualitative analysis’ during the conference. Several research papers on the theme from academics across the globe were presented and discussed during the conference. Dr. Matthew Ross, Western Michigan Univesity, U.S.A, Dr. Cenap Ilter, California State University Stanislaus, U.S.A and Dr. Andrew Chan, City University of Hongkong, SAR, were among the other key speakers during the conference. Dr. Elango Rengasamy, Professor-Finance, British University in Dubai, the International Exchange Program Institute of SDMIMD, delivered a special talk and coordinated the conference. 

Italy Conference 2015

Milan Marriott Hotel, Milan, Italy witnessed the First European Academic Research Conference on Global Business, Economics, Finance and Social Sciences organized by SDMIMD, Mysuru and J.A. Alpa Business Research & Publishers., during June 30 & July 1-2, 2015 at Milan. Dr. N.R. Parasuraman, Director, SDMIMD delivered a special address on ‘Real Options – A Great Financial Tool with Strategists!’ during the inaugural session of the conference. 
Distinguished invited talks on ‘European Sovereign Debt Crisis - Governance and Recovery: A few thoughts!’ by Dr. Michael Longo of Victoria University, Melbourne and ‘Regaining Economic Momentum through Competitiveness, Technology and Conducive Business Climate: Recent Success Stories!’ by Dr. Elango Rengasamy, The British University in Dubai, Dubai, UAE, were delivered during the paper presentation session.
