The workshop was organized for the focused group of PGDM 2018-20 Batch marketing specialization students.

| Exchange Program Visit to BUiD, Dubai by Prof. Gandhi |

Prof. L. Gandhi, Faculty – OB/HR, SDMIMD, visited British University in Dubai (BUiD), Dubai during October 21 to 23, 2019 on a Faculty Exchange Program (FEP). Prof. Gandhi conducted the sessions for MBA Program in the University. Students of the program are the working executives who are pursuing their MBA from BUiD. The sessions focused on Organization Behaviour (OB) covering the global scenario. Several case studies and situations from Indian scenario were introduced to the students.

| MDP on Finance for Non-Finance Professionals |

A one-day Management Development Program (MDP) was organized for the employees of Wuerth Electronik India Private Limited, Mysuru on October 5, 2019. The MDP was a customised program designed to the requirements of the Company. Understanding financial reports, analysis, interpretation of financial reports, cost management for decision making, time value of money and its application in business decisions, were the topics scheduled for this company-specific program. The pedagogy included lectures, case studies and hands on session in the computer lab. Dr. N.R. Parasuraman, Dr. M. Sriram and Prof. S. Kannadas were the knowledge facilitators for this focused executive program. The MDP was coordinated by Dr. M. Sriram, Assistant Professor-Finance, SDMIMD.

Dr. Nilanjan Sengupta invited to be a Jury Member to evaluate the submissions of "HR BEST PRACTICES COMPETITION" held on October 24, 2019, organized by the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) Mysore Chapter at SDMIMD, Mysuru.
Dr. Nilanjan Sengupta reviewed the submission for the “The Interdisciplinary Social Sciences Journal Collection” published by the Journal Common Ground Research Networks, USA.

Prof. Rajendra Todalbagi was a part of the six-member assessment panel as an Assessor for CII-Exim Bank Business Excellence Award 2019, which is modeled on EFQM Quality Award, and assessed Godrej Appliances Division, Godrej & Boyce Mfg. Co. Ltd., Pirojshanagar, Vikhroli (W), Mumbai. The Company has two manufacturing plants, one R&D Center and thirty two branch offices pan India which is the largest business unit under G&B. Assessment activity was spread over 75 days starting during the last week of July 2019 and completed with on-site assessment from September 28, 2019 to October 4, 2019.

Dr. M. Sriram was invited by the Department of Management Studies, Central University of Kerala to set a question paper on Financial Analysis and Reporting for their MBA program.
Dr. M. Sriram reviewed a manuscript titled 'Taxpayer's Perspective towards Implementation of Goods and Service Tax(GST): Analytical Study in Amritsar City' for Management and Labour Studies, XLRI, Jamshedpur and published by SAGE.
Dr. M. Sriram reviewed a manuscript titled 'Analysis of the Application of Budgetary Control in Non-Profit Organizations- A Case Study of ADRA Namibia' for International Journal of Emerging Issues in Economics, Finance and Banking (JEIEFB).

| Abhigyaan 2019 |
|
SDMIMD organised the annual flagship event for Undergraduates - Abhigyaan ’19, on October 10 & 11, 2019 at its campus. The two-day fest was inaugurated by Dr N. R Parasuraman, the Director of SDMIMD. More than 400 students from colleges across Karnataka participated in various events such as Best Manager, Best Entrepreneur, Marketing, Finance, Human Resource, B-Quiz, Photography, Mad Ads, Treasure Hunt and Street Play. The sports event was introduced in this year’s fest and a cricket match was organized. The inaugural day culminated with vibrant cultural competitions such as Singing, Dancing and Fashion Show.
SDM College of Business Management, Mangalore emerged as the overall champions of Abhigyaan’ 2019. The event was organized and coordinated by the Samprati Committee of SDMIMD.

| SDMIMD bags Dasara Flower Show Prize |
|
SDMIMD is proud of its picturesque campus and green courtyards with verdant environs. The garden known for its landscape, decorative plants and fruit garden has won Five first prizes in the categories:- Ornamental - Outdoor plants, Lawns, indoor plants, Fruit garden and amphitheatre. Also, it has won Best ornamental garden Prize in the recently held Dasara flower competition organised by Department of Horticulture, Govt. of Karnataka.
Over the years, the SDMIMD campus garden has received great appreciation from the visitors and consistently for 9 successive years garden has won the award during Dasara Flower Show Competition.

Being part of the Heritage City Mysuru, SDMites celebrated Mysuru Dasara with grand decoration, pooja of Goddess Saraswathi and Goddess Durga, games and delicious lunch. SDMites decorated the entire campus which gave festive look during Dasara. The delicious lunch with Mysuru and Bengal dishes added sweet to the festivity. Various traditional games and music made Dasara 2019 a memorable for SDMites. |
| Celebration of Gandhi Jayanti by SDMites LIFE |

The SDMites Library Initiative for Education (LIFE) team organized drawing competition and essay competition to the young minds of Aadarsha Vidyalaya School in Jockey Quarters Mysore. The competition was organized focusing the 150th Year Birthday Celebration of ‘Father of Nation’ Mahatma Gandhiji. The high school students participated in the event to demonstrate their skills and creativity on the theme of the competition. SDMites provided the materials for the competition and gave sweets to the students and distributed the prizes to the winners. |
