SDMIMD bags CSR Excellence Awards 2022 in the HR & CSR Conclave 2022, organized by the Edin Group and Colortone Textiles as part of the HR Dasara 2022 held on December 5, 2022. The journey of SDMIMD from Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) was presented by the PGDM 2022-24 Batch students Ms Umasaikiran Minnakuri, Mr Rajat Shaha, and Mr Bethe Jayaprakash Naidu under the guidance of Dr Sunil MV and Dr Mousumi Sengupta. The presentation encompassed the timeline of SDMIMD initiatives from the integration of “The Philosophy of Dharma” from the parent organization to the recent adoption of Environment, Social, and Governance.
(ESG). The CSR Excellence Award 2022 in the Education and Social Welfare category is given to SDMIMD in appreciation for its efforts to give back to society.

SDMIMD, in association with the Bangalore Chambers of Industry and Commerce (BCIC), organised the 7th International Economics Conference (IEC) on the theme - Economic Growth and Sustainable Development: Emerging Trends on November 24 & 25, 2022. The 7th edition of the IEC was inaugurated by Mr P.G. Yogindra, Former Executive Director of Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL). Mr Yogindra, during his inaugural address, said, ‘economic growth and sustainable development needs to be balanced, and each economic activity must focus on three dimensions of sustainability – economic, social and environmental’. The guest released an electronic version of the Conference Proceeding as a CD during the inaugural event.
The two-day conference deliberated the emerging economic growth and sustainable development issues from various dimensions.
The conference had an overwhelming response as more than 140 delegates from different parts of the country participated in the conference. More than 100 research papers/case studies were presented and deliberated across two days. The conference was attended by academicians, research scholars, and corporate executives.
Earlier, Dr B. Venkatraja, the Chairperson of IEC, welcomed the gathering and presented the conference's theme. Dr N.R. Parasuraman, Director, SDMIMD, in his address, focused on the importance of the theme and the need for Industry-Academia deliberation.

The Award recognizes the Indian Accreditation leader who has led more than one International Accreditation at their campus and has consistently displayed a passion for bringing in Global Benchmarks of Quality in Business Education.

Mr Kiran Sathyanarayan, Advisor, Data Science, Dell Technologies, was invited to deliver a talk on 'Presenting Analytical Insights' on November 14, 2022. The session was organized as part of the business intelligence course as part of the PGDM Program. The interactive session introduced the various nuances and techniques of understanding & presenting analytical insights.

Dr Sunil M.V., Head – Academic Administration and Faculty, SDMIMD, won the Certificate of Excellence Academic Library Award 2022 by Knimbus, India. Knimbus bestowed the Award for the innovative service demonstrating the integration of institute intellectual output and the various resources with discovery tools in an Open-source eco-system. In the presence of Dr N.R. Parasuraman, Director, SDMIMD, the certificate was hand-over by Mr Karthikeyan, Marketing-Head, Knimbus, to Dr Sunil on the campus.

Communication is the backbone of any society. It allows us to form connections, influence decisions, and motivate change. Public speaking is one of the most essential and dreaded forms of communication. In the working world, public speaking is a vital skill to have. While some take to it naturally, others tend to be more fearful of standing and talking in front of a crowd. A month-long workshop on Public Speaking with intensive theory and a practical session was organized for PGDM 2022-24 by Ms Sheetal Mohithe, Professional Trainer & Coach, during November and December 2022.

Dr Sudharshan Reddy Paramati, Chair Professor of Financial Economics and Climate Change, School of Business, University of Dundee, was on campus to discuss the funding opportunity for the research. Dr Sudharshan introduced the various scholarships and research avenues in the area of finance for the young managers of PGDM 2022-2024 during the interactive session held on November 17, 2022. The session followed a discussion with the faculty team on the academic tie-up between SDMIMD and the University of Dundee.

Mr Viju Parameshwar, the Former President & CEO of Kluber Lubrication, delivered the seminar on 'The Leadership Dimensions' on November 15, 2022. SDMIMD and BCIC jointly organized the virtual seminar. The session focused on how managers and leaders can equip themselves with the changing dimensions of leadership. The insightful discussion gave insights into the nuances of leadership. The special invitees, members of BCIC, students of PGDM Batch 22-24 and faculty members participated in the seminar.
