SDMIMD and Rotary Club of Mysore Host Blood Donation Drive

On October 19, 2024, SDMIMD, in collaboration with the Rotary Club of Mysore, organized a successful blood donation drive. Led by the L.I.F.E and ANTS committees, the event was inaugurated by Prof. Sridhar CV, Mr. Sameer Kashyap, and Mr. Praveen.
 
With 82 students donating blood, the drive reflected SDMIMD's commitment to social responsibility and community welfare. The seamless organization and enthusiastic participation showcased the institution's spirit of compassion and philanthropy.

Session on "Harness The True Power of Your Mind"

SDMIMD hosted an engaging session by Mr. Vittal Setty, Product Line Manager at Infosys, Mysore, and an active member of ISKCON, on October 16, 2024. The talk, titled "Harness The True Power of Your Mind," captivated the audience with its thought-provoking insights.
 
Mr. Setty emphasized techniques to unlock mental potential, foster self-awareness, and cultivate a positive mindset. The session left a lasting impact on the participants, inspiring them to harness the power of their minds to achieve personal and professional excellence.

Outlook-ICARE Rankings of India's Best B-Schools 2025

SDMIMD, Mysore, has been ranked 16th among the Top 200 Private B-Schools in India, securing 4th in the South Zone and 9th among Private Standalone Institutions. These rankings reflect SDMIMD's excellence and leadership in management education nationwide.

SDMIMD Bags Prize in Dasara Flower Show Competition 2024

SDMIMD won the Best Prize in the Ornamental Plant Category at the recently held Dasara Flower Show Competition, organized by the Department of Horticulture, Government of Karnataka. SDMIMD has been winning prizes in the Dasara Flower Show Competitions since 2004.

TEDxSDMIMD 2024: A Day of Inspiration, Ideas, and Insightful Conversations

The TEDxSDMIMD event, held on September 28, 2024, at the SDMIMD auditorium, ran from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM. This inspirational event featured 18 distinguished speakers, each presenting unique perspectives and thought-provoking ideas. The lineup included prominent professionals such as Sandeep Chatterjee, Dr. Usha Hegde, Dr. Nikhil Paul, Jason Fernandes, Vikas Goel, Hareesh Mothi, Harsh Vijay, Prof. R. Indira, Dr. Ashwini Kumar, Dr. Manesh Sathyanathan, Roopa Narayan, Hardick Bavishi, Col. Vinod Sasallati, Vinod Sharma, V. Ashwin Kumar, Nadja Bester, Abhishek Sasidharan, and Teja Gudluru.
 
The speakers captivated the audience with engaging talks on a wide variety of topics, igniting deep conversations and inspiring new ideas. TEDxSDMIMD 2024 was a resounding success, offering an enriching experience that left all attendees inspired and motivated.

SDMIMD Achieves Top Rankings Across Categories in Business Today Survey

SDMIMD is ranked 50th in the overall ranking and 30th among the Top 100 Private B-Schools. In South India, SDMIMD is positioned 13th among B-Schools. The institute has received recognition across various categories, with rankings as follows: Selection Process - 32, Placements - 54, and Future Orientation – 43.

University Representatives from the U.S. Visit SDMIMD to Explore Academic Collaboration Opportunities

Ms. Grace Lee and Ms. Akali Fulmer from University of West Alabama, US, and Christian Brothers University, US visited SDMIMD campus on 26 September 2024, to explore the possibilities of academic collaborations. Dr. S. N. Prasad, Director, SDMIMD discussed several possibilities of collaboration, including student and faculty exchange and organizing international academic events. Dr. Mousumi Sengupta, Dean - International Relations, SDMIMD was present during the meeting.

SDMIMD and Arcus Academy Sign MoU to Develop Business Education and Entrepreneurship Programs for Foreign Students

SDMIMD Mysore and Arcus Academy, Mysore signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), aiming to collaborate towards developing suitable and acceptable Business Education / Entrepreneurship Immersion study programs.  On this occasion, Mr. Utsav Agarwal, Director, Arcus Academy Private Limited and Bhoruka Fabcons Pvt Ltd. stated that this agreement would bring an opportunity for the foreign students to explore the nuances of doing business in India. Dr. S. N. Prasad, Director of SDMIMD, said that SDMIMD would surely play a pivotal role in adding value to such programs by designing the appropriate course curriculum. Dr. Mousumi Sengupta, Dean- International Relations of SDMIMD discussed several possibilities to bring the inter-cultural dimensions in those program.

SDMIMD Hosts 3-Day Outbound Learning Program for GSSSIETW MBA Students

From September 24 to 26, 2024, SDMIMD organized a 3-day Outbound Learning (OBL) program in management for 116 MBA students from GSSSIETW, Mysore. The event, aimed at fostering managerial skills through experiential learning, was inaugurated by the SDMIMD faculty team in the presence of Dr. Jagadeesha M., Head of the Department (HOD), and the MBA faculty members of GSSSIETW.
 
Throughout the three days, a variety of insightful sessions were delivered by SDMIMD faculty members, covering key topics such as Leadership and Problem-Solving by Dr. Mamta Hegde, Stress Management by Dr. L. Gandhi, and a Strategic Planning Simulation led by Prof. Girish Gopalaro. The program also included sessions on Team Building and Leadership Development, conducted by Dr. L. Gandhi, and Analytical Thinking, guided by Prof. Girish Gopalaro, alongside Managerial Decision-Making, which was facilitated by Dr. Nanda Kishore Shetty.
 
Participants engaged in further discussions on Communication and Conflict Resolution with Dr. Neetu Ganapathy, followed by an exploration of Creativity and Innovation led by Dr. S. Saibaba. Time management was addressed in a session by Prof. Girish Gopalaro, while Dr. S. Kannadas presented on Personal Finance Management, and Dr. Mousumi Sengupta guided the students through Payroll Analysis (Computing Salary). Additional sessions on Networking Skills and Corporate Etiquette were conducted by Prof. Girish Gopalaro and Dr. Neetu Ganapathy, respectively. Emotional intelligence, a crucial component of leadership, was discussed by Dr. L. Gandhi, while Dr. Sunil M.V. closed the academic agenda with a session on Personal Branding.
 
The program concluded with a valedictory ceremony and certificate distribution, during which both the students and MBA faculty coordinators from GSSSIETW expressed their appreciation for the enriching experience. The OBL program was overseen by Dr. Nanda Kishore Shetty, Chairperson of Corporate and External Training Programs at SDMIMD, Mysore.

Talk on Contemporary Banking Business - Inprime Model

On September 14, 2024, the guest talk on "Contemporary Banking Business - Inprime Model" offered valuable insights into the rapidly evolving financial sector. The speakers emphasized the growing influence of fintech in reshaping traditional banking, focusing on the integration of technology to enhance customer experience and improve operational efficiency. Key fintech solutions such as AI and digital payments were highlighted as drivers of innovation in banking services.
 
Additionally, the discussion introduced the concept of the "Figital" model, which combines physical and digital touchpoints to deliver a seamless, omnichannel banking experience. The speakers stressed the importance of integrating in-branch services with digital platforms, allowing customers to access personalized services through both physical locations and digital interfaces.
 
The session concluded by emphasizing the need for banks to adopt these models to remain competitive and meet evolving customer expectations, underscoring the future of banking as a blend of technological innovation and human interaction.
